Demolition Estimator

We are seeking a motivated, self-starter to join our team as a Demolition Estimator. In this position, you will be responsible for assessing project requirements, estimating costs, and preparing comprehensive proposals for demolition projects. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and construction teams to ensure accurate and timely estimates are provided.

Ideal candidates would be those who have a thorough knowledge related to demolition and estimating. While prior experience is preferred, it is not required as we will provide training to the right candidate. Additionally, a solid understanding of the means/methods of demolition will ensure the highest degree of success in this role.

Preferred but not a requirement, proficiency with computer technology and demolition permits.

Estimator Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-bid site visits for walk-through evaluations

  • Attend job meetings for bid openings

  • Review project plans and specifications

  • Prepare relevant documentation in response to bid and proposal requests

  • Prepare and submit bids

  • Write scope of work and review pricing for subcontractors

  • Negotiate subcontracts and purchasing

  • Develop change orders

  • Prepare submittals

  • Control project costs

  • Make calls for introductions and look for job openings 

  • Locate vendors and retain pricing

Abilities/Skills:

  • Previous demolition experience is recommended

  • Must have strong organizational skills to handle the variety of tasks assigned

  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners, and general contractors

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budget, schedule, people, and quality of work

  • Must be competent to perform complete and accurate project take-offs and estimates
